HOW TO MAKE TURMERIC POWDER AT HOME?

You can make turmeric powder very easily. First procure organic turmeric from the market. Choose big smooth rhizomes without mold. Wash them properly and boil the turmeric pieces with the skin on for about 40 minutes in an uncovered pan. Then strain the excess water that is left (which looks deep-orange or brownish). Then place them on an absorbent towel to cool. Once cool cut the turmeric rhizomes into small pieces. Then put them to dry in a single layer on a plastic sheet or a clean thin cotton napkin. Dry the turmeric under the sun for 1.5 days till the turmeric pieces become crispy like chips. Grind them well and sieve the powder to remove the bigger pieces from the powder. After grinding, spread it on a plate to cool it completely. Once cool, tightly pack the powder in air-tight glass bottle and store it in a cool place.
